Parenting styles the world over

I have written in the past about different parenting styles in different cultures, and in particular about the French way of childrearing.  Here is an article that compares the US way of raising kids to the parenting styles in many other (wealthy) countries, and finds our US parenting strategy lacking in many ways.  I don't want to be another of these people that gravitate to European ways of doing things just because they seem exotic, but I had to agree with a lot of things in this article.
