Salt!

Here's an NYT article on processed food companies' efforts to resist lowering the heart-endangering amounts of salt in their products. I hope I don't piss off my processed food-industry cousin, who is quoted in the article, but it seems to me that if a company is marketing a product that tastes like wet dog hair, straw, or cardboard unless they pack it with dangerous amounts of salt, then their business model is deeply flawed.
