African sovereignty against transnational hatred

I've written before about the little US cottage industry of rabidly homophobic religious missionaries spreading their message of hatred in Africa.  I obviously am not cool with this.  Anyway, here is an interesting and heartening news item related to this trend.  Apparently a pastor from a strip-mall church in Arizona planned a multi-country tour of southern Africa to spread hate speech.  In reaction, Botswana and South Africa exercised their sovereign right to deport/deny entry to this undesireable foreigner.  I see it as a principled stand in the name of human rights, and an assertion that African countries are no longer accepting the role assigned to them by many outsiders as a dumping ground for discarded products or ideologies.
