The Baffler and criticism

This is an article from the Baffler about how criticism, and especially class-aware criticism, has become less common in an age where tastes and styles and consumer-created "identities" make people feel more unique even as they are less empowered.  It's a lot to digest, and certainly some of the arguments are over my head, but I appreciated the article.  I had not come into contact before with the Baffler, and I am in fact baffled as to how exactly to describe it.  But the editorial staff seems to consider it a mix of cultural criticism (though it also places itself in opposition to overly academic style), economic and social analysis, and a bit of art.  I think it's an important voice to have out there.
