A long time ago I shared
an article about palm oil production in Colombia. Here is a much more in-
depth article about the effects of clearing forest for oil palm plantations in Indonesia and elsewhere in the world. It is a sobering lesson in how technocratic fixes to one environmental problem can lead to a different, even worse problem, if not thought through carefully.
