The Western Canon in a multicultural world

This is an interesting take on how the so-called Western Canon of art and literature relates to non-Western writers and artists (and readers).  It is a subject I'm very interested in, valuing as I do the great Western sources at the same time as I marvel at non-Western manifestations of culture.
