Crossing the Darien Gap
This is an article in what seems to be a series from the LA Post detailing the arduous journey that people from around the world are making to come up through South and Central America to the US. This particular article focuses on one of the most dangerous parts of the trip--the overland trek through thick, roadless, unpoliced jungle to get from the Colombian Caribbean to settled parts of Panama. It gives more human detail and narrative to a story I've been studying for a while, the plight of Africans and other non-Americans in Central America.
