Cooperation Jackson

This is an interesting interview with a political activist and economic development worker in Jackson, Mississippi.  I find his insights on the current political juncture to be very relevant.  But most of all, I admire how he combines a socialist analysis and critique of the prevailing political, economic, and social systems, while not withdrawing from these systems but in fact working practically to influence and even radically change them.  Often social progressives fall either in the extreme of resisting so absolutely that they marginalize themselves from the system, or participating so much in the system that they compromise their own values.  Mr. Akuno seems to be that rare combination of lucid intellectual and moral/political convictions, and pragmatic action in the world we've inherited.  I'd love to get to know more about his organization.
