A little bit on drug transshipment

Here's a pretty good article analyzing drug transshipment routes from South America. Crackdowns on drug violence in Peru in the 1980s moved the problem to Colombia, crackdowns in Colombia moved the trade to Mexico, and now the Caribbean is taking part in all the fun. It seems that the illicit drug trade is much easier to move around than it is to stop.
