Some straight talk on Libya

This article from the excellent Mantle blog refers to something I've long been thinking about the Libyan conflict. Essentially, it seems not to be the story of a ruthless dictator slaughtering innocent civilians, but rather of a heavily-armed insurgent uprising that has been met with force by the national government it seeks to overthrow. You may love or hate Qaddafi, and even wish he weren't in power, but it is always unwise to support a bunch of mujihadeen-esque rebels as "freedom fighters".
