Bob Herbert's diagnosis
This is a recent NYT opinion piece about some of the structural problems we're facing in the US. The author hones in on gaping inequality, lack of jobs, and disproportionate political influence of the wealthy. I think he about sums up what's going wrong in the US right now, and why times seem so grim and unpromising.
