Chewing gum

Here's a short history of chewing gum, which comes from tropical tree latex. I've never been a big chewing gum fan, but I did do a report on the Chicago-based Wrigley company when I was like 8 years old. I thought it was cool that such an artificial product as gum, with no visible connection to any natural substance I knew of, actually came from indigenous use of a tree. Maybe that was a push on my path to dedicate my professional life to plants and plant products.
