This is an article about Dr. Paul Farmer's testimony before the Congressional black caucus. Basically he believes, as I do, that without strengthening the Haitian state, Haitian recovery is doomed to failure.
On a related note, the electoral council in Haiti continues to block the participation of the Fanmi Lavalas party in elections. This is the party of Jean-Bertrand Aristide, the very popular president of Haiti who was driven out of both of his terms by coups d'etat.
